Listen up friends and friends of friends!

If you or someone you know is going to be in Tokyo Dec 30 - Jan 1, and you've had any inclination to see a KK concert, let me know. Through a special turn of events, we have extra tickets to all 3 shows. Anyone interested, reply to this post (will be screened replies, so no worries) and it's quite possible we make a deal on the standard price. And yes, these are all face value tickets, no hidden price requests.

Please let me know! As it is, I'm not seeing CD this year, please don't leave me stuck with empty seats around me at KK cons, too! *tries for the sympathy vote*

Thanks!!!!!

At 5:45am yesterday morning, I was awoken by severe shaking. It's hard to compare this sudden, violent vibration of the earth below to anything else for those who have never experienced an earthquake first hand. It was Magnitude 3 and it came so suddenly that I was more surprised than scared. Of course I was rather sleep deprived - I still am. I remember waking up to being shaken, sitting up in bed, putting a pillow over my head in case the shaking started again, and finally lying down to go back to sleep.

All throughout yesterday, Shizuoka, the origin of the earthquake yesterday morning, has been shaken up by quakes of Magnitude Lower 5. It's kind of frightening how it was hit so much in the same day.

So I still don't have the internet at home. But I am tweeting very very regularly. XD So if you have a Twitter and (some would say wisely) don't follow me, please start? I'm diamondlife over there. :] I've got to tell you, not having the internet at home is the MOST INCONVENIENT THING EVER! >_< I'd forgotten just how annoying it is to not be able to look something up on iPlayer or YouTube if you've missed it on TV! And not being able to dl stuff when I see it is such a pain, cos I'm so forgetful, haha. But my phone line should have been installed today, so hopefully sometime over the next week or so I will also have internet. @_@ I hope they let me know when, lol. Broadband is so complicated, I miss the days when I had cable! So straightforward! >_<

Many thanks to those who've sent me cards so far! :D I'm not at home so I can't remember who off the top of my head, but I have them all displayed on my mantelpiece! :D I've sent most of mine but I know I still have a few to do, so there's always the danger they'll be late (as usual). There's also some people who I'd love to send cards but I didn't note down your addresses from your own LJs and I can't remember who has posted and who hasn't, so I'll go the V-gift route for you guys. ;3 Which reminds me, thanks also for the snowflakes! I really wanted to send some myself but by the time I was back home (I think I was at Center Parcs at the time - yeah, s'been busy XD) the facility had gone, lol.

So, how about that X-Factor then? I really really wanted Olly to win, but as we've seen being runner-up is often just as good or even better, so hopefully he'll also have a great career. I really really want to go to the tour XD but will I still in March, or will I wish I hadn't spent the £30? This is the dilemma, haha. Tickets are almost gone, so I need to decide fast too. :X (Admittedly I'd've bought them already probably if I had internet at home, lol. Don't wanna put my debit card details into an unsecured network though! ^^')

I actually feel really sad X-Factor is over this year. I really felt involved, and the people I really liked got right to the final. People were saying it wasn't vintage, but those are the same people who are always snobby about it anyway, so. I've come to really despise the snobbiness, too. Why shouldn't people who are genuinely talented performers get a chance like that? Because they *have* to be talented to get far! I think it's great when the winner is a nice, humble person who can be a great example and role-model. Like Diversity, who I also really really want to see live next year. Hard work and talent deserve rewards! And just maybe they'll show other young lads that it's worth putting your all into something and caring about something, and just maybe you'll make it too.

(Finally on the topic, re: icon - don't judge me. >.> Let's face it, I was never *not* going to be won over by things like this. It's a genetic impossibility. I can't resist.)

Have also been having really deep pangs of wanting to see K8 again. I hope they do more than just concerts next year though, but moreover I hope they're at a time when I could go! I just feel like I'll never get as good a chance as 2008 again, though, and I fluffed that. :/ Yes I'm still bitter damnit!!!

...And that's it. XD Good luck to those who are doing exams, writing essays etc! I seriously haven't done any of my own work for weeks. This semester has just been too busy, what with the teaching workshops and, y'know, moving house. @_@ I'm dreading having to do work again, haha. But I really will have to get a move on over the holidays. >_< I hope there's lots of fun stuff to help me procrastinate though"! ;)

Let's see. I put Galena on layaway. Hoohah.

I've been thinking about cosplay and how I need to get my shit together for that. I at least bought a pattern for the dress. So now that's two pieces for the Gwendolyn that I will own! It's a miracle. I am going batty trying to find shoes I like, but alas I think it is not to be. I don't know where the other Gwendolyn cosplayers found their shoes but I can't find them. Also they always pick the wrong colour and it bothers me XD MINE WILL BE BETTER NYAH.

Need to attempt exercise again :/

Okay, so no win for CD tickets. Notice to my friends -- and friends of friends -- in Tokyo. If you happen to be blessed with an extra ticket to CD, please keep me in mind? Or if you are in any way able to procure them for a reasonable price.

This might just indeed be the Year Without Arashi for me. No luck with the tour and now looking like no luck with CD either. *sigh*

In any event, I AM BUMMED. *__*;;;;

Just a quick (annoyed) post to ask: Does anyone else with a free LJ account in the States have that goddam Best Buy pop up advert these days?? Oh, I am sooooo pissed at them for that! It's not like other popup ads (the kind you get in MU, for instance) where you can close the new window from the task bar. NO, this one pops up in the fucking middle of the screen, plays fracking music!, and the only way to close it is to wait for it to load and start playing, then you have to close the window directly. Problem is, on my netbook I don't have enough screen real estate to have the ad show entirely so the top part with the fucking "close window" icon is not displayed. Thus, I am stuck with a lame ass annoying ad in the middle of my screen that I can't close. I have to go back a page and try the next entries again and hope it doesn't pop up again. Note to Best Buy marketing:: ANNOYING ADS MAKE ME HATE THE COMPANY THAT FORCES THEM ON ME AND MAKES ME WANT TO BOYCOTT YOU, NOT BUY FROM YOU!

Sorry, off to go meet my coworkers in the lobby, but had to get that off my chest.

Just a quickie from my upgraded seat on my flight leaving for Chicago soon. I preloaded as many tv shows as possible onto my netbook in the hopes I can catch up on them. I should be reviewing the work documents I'll be working on tomorrow but the allure of cute Japanese idols is too compelling. LOL!

Anyway, I don't know how much online time I'll have until Friday night but I'll try and check in as often as possible. Email will be much easier to reach me in case anyone is interested.

And away we go!
